Treatment focused on undertanding your body,

not just managing symptoms.

Acupuncture Care

More Than Symptom Relief

Acupuncture works with your body to regulate pain, reduce tension, and support recovery. Care at Starting Point is individualized and focused on understanding the pattern behind your symptoms, not just treating them in isolation.

Treatment is always tailored. I use whatever combination your body responds to best — nothing more, nothing less.

Acupuncture

Fine, sterile filaments placed at specific points along the body's meridian pathways. Acupuncture works by stimulating the nervous system, promoting circulation, and helping the body regulate pain and tension. It's precise, generally painless, and one of the most researched complementary medicine modalities available today.

Gua Sha

A smooth-edged tool is used to apply pressure along the skin's surface, releasing tension in the underlying tissue. Gua sha increases circulation, reduces muscle tightness, and helps the body process stagnation. It's particularly effective for neck, shoulder, upper back, lower back, and leg pain.

Cupping

Soft cups are placed on the skin to create suction, drawing circulation to the surface and releasing deep layers of muscular tension. Cupping is effective for chronic pain, stiffness, and recovery from physical strain. The temporary marks it can leave are a normal response.

Acupressure

The same meridian points used in acupuncture, accessed through targeted manual pressure rather than needles. Acupressure is useful where needling isn't appropriate, or as a complement to other treatment. I also teach patients simple acupressure techniques they can use between sessions.

Acupuncture is the foundation of my practice. But it's rarely the only tool.

What To Expect

Every step of care is built around understanding you — not just your symptoms.

01

A Different Way of Approaching Care

Most care focuses on where something hurts. I focus on why. Your body is constantly responding to stressors, movement patterns, and the load you carry over time. Understanding that is where lasting change begins.

02

Your First Visit

We start with a conversation about how your body has been responding. Your first session includes a thorough intake and acupuncture treatment tailored specifically to you. Patients may notice a reduction in pain or tension even after that first visit.

03

A Process, Not a Quick Fix

Some conditions improve quickly. Others take more time. Treatment plans are built around your specific condition and how long it's been present. The goal is not just relief — it's helping your body recover its ability to adapt and maintain balance.
